Celebrity Diabetics

Here is a quick list of celebrity diabetics who have been able to manage the disease and are now advocates who help others learn how to manage their diabetes  

Nick Jonas: Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 13, the singer and actor has been a vocal advocate for diabetes research and founded the Change for Children Foundation. 

Halle Berry: The Academy Award-winning actress was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 19 and has since become a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association.

Selma Hayek: The actress and filmmaker developed gestational diabetes during her pregnancy and has since used her platform to raise awareness about the condition. 

Drew Carey: The comedian and actor was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in his 20s and has been open about his struggles with the disease. 

Randy Jackson: The music producer and former American Idol judge was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in his 30s and has become a spokesperson for healthy living.

Tom Hanks: The actor revealed his type 2 diabetes diagnosis in 2013 and has since become involved in raising awareness about the condition. 

Bret Michaels: The rock musician was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in his 20s and has used his platform to raise awareness and funds for research. 

Patti LaBelle: The legendary singer was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in her 50s and has since become a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association.

Silas Randle: The former NBA player was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 19 and has become an advocate for healthy living and managing diabetes while being active. 

Daryl Strawberry: The baseball Hall of Famer was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in his 40s and has since become a spokesperson for healthy living and managing diabetes. 

 

It does not matter who you are, Diabetes  does not care!

Just goes to show that you can manage your disease and still live a full life !
